Ahhh Summer! I have decided that summer might just possibly be my favorite season. Nah, I still love autumn best, but I am just so enjoying this summer. It's probably because we had an unseasonably cold and long winter, but that seems to be the case here every year. I honestly love every season in it's own right. Spring is wonderful because trees bud, flowers bloom, everything begins turning green and I can anticipate the coming of summer just as soon as Easter is celebrated. Winter is a great season (though much too long here) because it brings with it all the best holidays....Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, my birthday and of course Valentine's Day. I thoroughly enjoy watching the stores change decor and candy to match all the holidays. Fall, or autumn as I prefer for obvious reasons, has long been a favorite. Not only does it end the dizzying heat of summer, it opens the doorway to my favorite holidays, and presents changing leaves, crisp air and an abundance of school supplies. Although I home school, I still stock up on pencils, crayons, paper and scissors every year. It's truly a wonderful thing. But this year, more than other years, I am loving summer. After the lengthy winter, it's glorious to throw on flip flops, shorts and a tee and hit the great outdoors. I love not fidgeting with snow boots, heavy coats, gloves, hats, scarves and dreary weather. I love how the sun has long been up by the time I open my eyes each morning, and how it lights the evening late into the day so I can pull weeds, or splash in the sprinklers with my family. This has been an incredible summer and it's going by quickly. I think my dream summer would include VBS, a visit with family, and a plethora of barbecues and get togethers with friends with no deadlines, or plans to be anywhere. The sound of crickets, the smell of the grill and an endless supply of sodas on ice......yeah, that's definitely my dream summer.

Here's my little Autumn on the first day of "Boomerang Express". VBS 2009 was fantastic. We were insanely busy and my home was overflowing with family, but we had a great time and made some lasting memories. Definitely one of my favorite things about summer!
