No, not the smelly, fragrant kind, the variety-kind. It's been a totally tumultuous Tuesday (yeah, I'm still in rhyme mode). It started off with what seemed a normal dental cleaning. Everything was going well until I mentioned that I had a tooth bothering me. After a few x-rays and some discussion with the dentist, he recommended I see the
endodontist. Off I go to make an appointment only to find out they have an opening today. What luck! I meet with the
endodontist and 15 minutes, and $96.00 later he informs me I have something called 'tooth resorption' and my tooth has to be pulled. Seriously? I thought that was only for
hillbillys and inbreds who don't take care of their teeth. Turns out, it's what happens when your cells turn on your tooth and/or bone and start eating it. No wonder my mouth has been sore, my tooth is amok with infection. Fortunately, it's the very last tooth on the top and it won't be noticeable, so at least for now, I won't have to pay for an implant when I see the oral surgeon. And that's on my agenda for Wednesday....make appointment with the oral surgeon!

In other news, I just read today that Obama wants to expand the current public school day to 9 hours, and shorten summer breaks. Apparently the US is lagging behind Europe and we need to be more like them. I thought that's why we left England in the first place, we didn't want to be like them.

Congress is also considering a bill that would give babies born in America a $500 savings account to be accessed when they're 18. Hey what's a few more bucks on top of our $1.4 trillion debt?

And my personal favorite....environmentalists want toilet paper to be recycled AND reduced to single ply. My guess is that it won't save much when people are using 3x as much to make up for the loss.
Those are just the tip of the ice berg, but in an effort to avoid my political soap box, I'll stop there. You know you're glad I did :)
